Eleven of the best startups in Cameroon will compete on September 29, 2017, in Douala, the economic capital, to represent the country during the global summit of SeedstarsWolrd a government statement revealed. The SeedstarsWorld summit will provide the winner, funding and additional prizes of up to $1 million dollars (around CFA550 millions), as well as profit from a global network of investors and mentors.
Seedstarswords which will pass through more than 75 countries this year to identify the best seed startups, will be held in Cameroon at the premises of ActivSpaces.
Among the Cameroonian startups selected as global finalists, there are some big players like the Will & Brothers, developer of Drone Africa, an app that enabled the launch of the “first civil drone service” in Cameroon; GiftedMom, a platform based on artificial intelligence that allows remote access to medical support; Guanxi Investment, a platform that allows companies to raise funds for their projects or iDjangi, an online tontine platform…
Seedstars, promoter of the SeedstarsWorld competition, “is a global organization with a mission to impact people’s lives in emerging markets through technology and entrepreneurship (…) We roam the globe to connect with the digital change makers of the emerging world, who are causing social change”, the press release announcing the event in Cameroon explained.
