SAN FRANCISCO — Computer newsroom system developerOctopus Newsroom is going to have its Octopus 8 Newsroom solution on display for attendees at this year’s NAB Show in Las Vegas.
The Octopus 8 system is able to ingest all incoming source material and can source from, and output to, social media platforms like YouTube,
Instagram and Twitter, as well as other social media features like following hashtags, or uploading customized content to specific sites. The Octopus 8 Social Media Hub tracks the feedback from social media followers. Content can also be uploaded from the rundown to a website via an integration with certain CMS.
Additional features of the Octopus 8 Newsroom include the ability to connect to customer-selected technology; an assignment desk; editable and flexible news rundowns; processing of multiple news agency sources; simultaneous broadcast transmission and web publication; built-in instant messaging; email and SMS notifications; automated tasks and workflows; floating licensing model; HTML5 plugins; and support for VLC player. The Octopus 8 works with Windows, OS X and Linux operating systems.
Octopus Newsroom will also have the Octopus Mobile app, which is compatible with Octopus 8 and the most recent version of Octopus 7, for full news production capabilities on tablets and mobile phones running on iOS or Android.
