CFAO announced that the 2ndsupermarket of Carrefour would be built within Douala Grand Mall & Business Park, a large 18,000 square meter commercial center being constructed in Douala. This one follows the first supermarket built at Bonamoussadi in December 2017.
The information was revealed by the British Actis (which is the project’s proponent) when it announced that the construction of this commercial center had started. According to the British investment fund, Douala Grand Mall & Business Park will host a multiplex of five cinemas, a supermarket, and shops.
The second phase of this CFA80 billion project plans for the construction of a 5-star hotel and an office park.
For the record, Carrefour opened the first supermarket on December 5, 2017. Its objective is to promote agriculture products and create 350 jobs. After Douala, Carrefour will turn to Yaoundé where it plans to invest CFA30 billion for the construction of an ultra-modern commercial center at Ekoudou.
