Suzie Beauty cosmetics were created by beauty professional, Suzie Wokabi. The line was borne from her frustration of a lack of local, affordable cosmetics for the African woman; the frustration of needing to depend on others importing international brands and selling them at exorbitant mark-ups; and the frustration of the local beauty industry remaining stagnant.
SuzieBeauty products are readily accessible online and in retail outlets in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and even in Kampala, Uganda, Addis Ababa, and Cote D’Ivoire, and soon in Nigeria and South Africa. Additionally, the company plays a key role in the fashion, beauty, media and bridal industries and has established a seasonal school where aspiring local make-up-artists can learn this valuable skill.
Suzie had the foresight to understand that the African woman is becoming more beauty savvy by the day, with her needs growing more sophisticated. She also had the advantage, being a top make-up artist in the industry, of working with the many skin tones and understanding, on a very basic level, the needs of the African woman’s skin. The SuzieBeauty line of cosmetics hence came into existence and is a major force in the beauty industry. Suzie was named one of the 5 fashion icons of 2012 by Capital FM, and was recently awarded a finalist award for the Most Influential Women in Business & Government in Africa.
SuzieBeauty is well known for superior make-up artistry and is the go-to company for Fashion Events and TV Shows for their make-up needs. Most recently, SB has done make-up for Miss World Kenya, Kenya Fashion Week, Coke Studio, and the upcoming TPF6.
